Before care for tattooed eyebrows is crucial to ensure the best possible results and minimize the risk of complications. Here is a description of before care for tattooed eyebrows:

Prior to the procedure, it is recommended to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil. These can increase the risk of bleeding and affect the healing process.

It is advisable to avoid alcohol and caffeine consumption for at least 24 hours before the procedure. These substances can thin the blood and make you more prone to bleeding during the tattooing process.

It is important to avoid tanning, both natural and artificial, before getting tattooed eyebrows. Sun exposure can cause the skin to become more sensitive and affect the colour and longevity of the tattoo.

It is recommended to avoid waxing or tweezing your eyebrows for at least two weeks before the procedure. The technician will work with your natural brow shape and hair to create the desired look, so it's best to leave them untouched.

Keeping your skin well-hydrated and moisturised before the procedure can help improve the overall health of your skin and make the tattooing process smoother. Drink plenty of water and apply a gentle moisturiser to your eyebrows and surrounding skin.

On the day of the procedure, make sure to cleanse your eyebrows and the surrounding skin thoroughly. Avoid using any makeup or skincare products on the eyebrow area to ensure a clean canvas for the technician.

By following these before-care guidelines, you can help ensure the best possible outcome for your tattooed eyebrows.

You will need to wipe your brows every 15 minutes for the first hour.

Once the hours is up, you will have wiped them four times and you will need to apply Vaseline.

For the rest of the day you will need to wipe and apply Vaseline hourly and remove excess Vaseline from your brows. We will demonstrate how to apply the right amount.

Before you go to bed you will need to place a strip of gladwrap over your brows to hold the Vaseline in place while you sleep for the first night. Applying a thick layer at night will ensure your brows stay moist all night.

The next day you will need to begin wiping the area with baby wipes and applying Vaseline four times per day for the next two weeks.

Makeup can be worn around the are but not on the tattoo. No brow products on the area for 2 weeks.

After a couple days when you feel that they are getting hard/starting to scab, you need to stop using the wipes as you may pull pigment out of the brows.

You only need to apply Vaseline four times per day.
After the two weeks, you will need to apply Vaseline to the tattooed area every morning for the remaining four weeks of the healing process.

It takes a full six weeks to heal, so even though it may feel like your cosmetic tattoo is healed DO NOT stop the after care.

As yearly maintenance for your skin to heal, we advise clients to purchase Bio Oil from the supermarket. This can be used one night per week on your brows for the year until you come back for your Colour Boost. It will renew your skin cells to prevent any scar tissue and you can start this one month after your perfecting visit.

Be prepared for your brows to be initially dark once you have had your brow appointment. This is part of the process and the brows usually heal anywhere from 40-60% lighter depending on each clients skin and how well they adhere to the aftercare. Also if they heal to light Livvy I’ll recognise this and built more colour into the brows at the follow up appointment.

If you have any issues or questions regarding your cosmetic tattoo do not hesitate to pop in and see us or phone Livvy on 0226728230.

Fine line tattoos are delicate and intricate designs created using thin, precise lines, resulting in a detailed and elegant finished tattoo. Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure the longevity and vibrancy of fine line tattoos. Here are some essential tips for fine line tattoo aftercare:

Wash your tattoo gently with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Avoid rubbing the tattoo or using harsh products that can irritate the skin.

Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, gentle moisturiser to keep your tattoo hydrated and prevent it from drying out. Avoid petroleum-based products, as they can clog pores and hinder the healing process.

Protect your fine line tattoo from direct sunlight and tanning beds, as UV rays can fade the ink and damage the skin. If you're going outside, make sure to cover your tattoo with clothing or use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF.

For the first few weeks after getting your fine line tattoo, avoid soaking it in water, such as swimming pools, hot tubs, or baths. Excessive moisture can cause the tattoo to fade and increase the risk of infection.

It's normal for your tattoo to scab and itch during the healing process, but resist the urge to pick or scratch at it. Doing so can pull out the ink and lead to scarring or infection.

Wear loose, breathable clothing over your tattoo to prevent irritation and allow it to breathe during the healing process.

Remember that everyone's skin heals differently, so it's essential to listen to your body and adjust your aftercare routine as needed. If you notice any signs of infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, or oozing, consult a healthcare professional immediately. With proper care and attention, your fine line tattoo can remain beautiful and vibrant for years to come.
